The first video segment of the Spell of Language Vowel Scope and Sequence of Skills teaches a classification of the Standard American English vowel sounds and their spellings.

The goal of instruction is for students to be able to discriminate and produce vowel sounds and their spellings without discernible effort.

The second video segment of the Spell of Language Vowel Scope and Sequence of Skills presents how students practice vowels for accuracy in recognition and production.

The third video segment of the Spell of Language Vowel Scope and Sequence of Skills teaches how students develop automaticity in:

• recognizing the vowel sound/spelling correspondences;
• producing the sounds for the spellings; and
• writing the correspondences.
